Ramgarh, Nov 26: On the occasion of the Constitution Day, a seminar was organized in Ramgarh College on the topic “73 years of Constitution and we the people of India”.
The interdisciplinary seminar was organized by the Political Science Department, Sanskrit Department, Economics Department, History Department and Urdu Department of the college. The inauguration was done with the lighting of the lamp, after which all the people present took oath while reciting the preamble. The chief guest of the program Dr. Sunil Kumar Agarwal said that the constitution is not only a legal document but also a protective shield for us citizens.
While presiding over the program, the Head of the Department of Physics, Dr. Bakshi Om Prakash said that the decision of the Government of India to celebrate Constitution Day is a commendable step. It is necessary to understand the supremacy of the Constitution in a democracy.
Head of the Sanskrit Department, Dr. Preeti Kamal, who is leading the program, said that it was decided by the Government of India to celebrate Constitution Day for the first time on November 26, 2015, to spread awareness among citizens about the country’s constitution and to propagate constitutional values. Since then Constitution Day has been celebrated every year on 26 November.
The responsibility of the educational institutions how to give practical shape to this decision. Along with a brief introduction to the Indian Constitution, presented some important moments of the Constituent Assembly through an audio-visual film projector.
Professor of History Department Dr. Rose Oraon conducted the stage successfully, apart from that she explained in detail on the broad constitutional meaning of A_21. Dr. Balwanti Minj, Head, Department of Political Science, explained the Preamble in detail. Dr. Malini Dean, Head, Department of Economics, delivered a lecture on the subject of Economic Justice and Indian Constitution. Dr. Kamna Rai, Assistant Professor, Department of History, delivered a lecture on the constitutional instructions of schedule 5 and our democratic tribal society.
Umme Salma of Urdu Department, first session, features of the constitution, Mukesh Munda of History Department, Fundamental Rights, Neetu Kumari, Basic Duties, Priyanka Kumari, Constitutional Duty of scientific approach and we the people of India, Khushboo Kumari of Sanskrit Department, preservation of culture Shehzadi Parveen of the Department of Political Science presented a paper on Judiciary and the People of India, Lovely Kumari of the Department of Economics State Financial Relations and Shankar Kumar of the Department of Tax Revenue Distribution.
The seminar was followed by a quiz competition, in which five team members of the Drafting Committee, namely K. M. Munshi, Mohd. Saadullah, A. Krishnaswami Iyer, N. Gopalaswami Iyengar, T.T.Krishnamachari. Dr. Malini Dean, Dr. Kamna Rai and Dr. Shahnawaz Khan acted as judges. KM Munshi’s team consisting of Shankar Kumar, Sonu Ram, Shaman Parveen, Manisha Kumari and Khushbu Kumari Shail emerged as the toppers. Prizes were distributed to the winning team and prizes were given to encourage the readers of the letters. The vote of thanks was done by Dr. Shahnawaz Khan, Head of the Department of Urdu. Dr. Ramagya Singh, Dr. Birbal Mahato, Ajita Kindo, Jitendra Rana, Niranjan Mahato, Yogendra Ram, Bhuneshwar Ram, Suresh Chaudhary, Manoj Nayak, Mo Wasim etc. were mainly present in the program.
