Ramgarh, Dec 7: The court of ADJ First Sheshnath Singh convicted one Bablu Munda in connection with the murder of his wife Poonam Devi in Chaha village, Ward-32 of the Rajrappa police station area in 2018.

The court convicted the accused after hearing all 13 witnesses including the investigating officers Kamlesh Paswan and Binod Kumar Murmu, besides hearing the arguments presented by public prosecutor RB Roy. The quantum of punishment will be announced today.

The incident took place on October 30, 2018.  On the night of the incident, Poonam Devi’s husband called his brother-in-law and said that her health is very bad and he should come immediately. On getting information, Poonam’s relatives reached her house at 8 am but found that Poonam had died.

Later, the Ramgarh police filed a case against Bablu and a few others for murder and hanging the dead body.  Along with this, it was also alleged that after marriage, Bablu used to demand Rs. 1 lakh as a dowry. He also used to fight with Poonam for not bringing money from her parents’ home.
