Ramgarh: One dies of electrocution, four sustain injuries

Ramgarh, Oct 29: One died and four sustained injuries after being electrocuted by an 11,000-volt current while they were setting up the hoarding for the District Social Security Cell near the main gate of Patratu Block Headquarters. The incident occurred on Friday afternoon. All the injured including the deceased are residents of Ramgarh Goalpar. The deceased has been identified as Bablu Nayak.

While among other labourers, Shashi Raj Sahu and Madhu Ranjan Kumar Singh were referred by doctors to RIMS, Ranchi as they were in critical condition. Vishnu Kumar and Ankit Kumar, who sustained minor injuries, went to their houses after first aid.

The local people said that around 3 pm, five people who came from Ramgarh were preparing to put up a hoarding of the district administration next to the main Mahatma Gandhi gate of Block Mode. By setting the hoarding in the channel, they were standing against it from an angle.

Meanwhile, the angle collided with a passing wire of 11,000 volts passing from above. As soon as they collided with the angle wire, the five were electrocuted by a strong electric current. All were then taken to the hospital.

SDPO Patratu Dr Virendra Chaudhary and SHO Gautam Kumar reached there with the armed forces and immediately helped in sending the injured victims to RIMS.
