Ramgarh, Feb 25: Police have arrested two members of banned JJ MP in connection with the Manoj Munda murder case.
SP Ramgarh Piyush Pandey, while at a press conference on Saturday said, “On February 15, Manoj Munda was shot dead by 4-5 bike-born assailants in Amjharia Budh Bazar at around 18:30 in the evening. In this regard, a Case of No. 0-25 / 2023 dated – 1602023 Section-302 / 120 (B) and 27 Arms Act had been registered under Patratu Barkakana Police Station after the incident.
He further continued that in the course of the investigation, Binod Ganjhu, son of Chandru Gajhu Lowadih, Police Station-Patratu (Barkakana), District-Ramgarh and Muneshwar Uraon, Chatra were arrested with an illegal pistol and bullet on the basis of secret information. “We then realized that the duo was working for JJMP, a banned Maoist organization,” Pandey added.
“Munda was shot dead as he took levy in the name of the organization, however, kept it instead of passing it on. As a result of this, he was shot dead by several persons in Budh Bazar,” added Pandey
The weapon used in the murder was provided by Muneshwar Oraon of the Piparwar Police Station area under the Chatra district. The arrested accused include Binod Gajhu, age 24 years, father – Chandru Gajhu, Lowadih, Police Station – Patratu (Barkakana), District – Ramgarh; and Muneshwar Oraon, father – late Balka Oraon, son – Jhulandih, police station – Piparwar, district – Chatra. Recovery from the duo includes one country-made pistol and two live bullets, one country-made iron pistol and four live bullets, a Vivo smartphone and an Oppo smart phone.
