Ramgarh, Aug 29: A man named Birbal Ram, who worked as a cook for the police, committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree in the Bhurkunda OP premises on Monday morning.

Ramgarh SP Piyush Pandey along with District Police Men’s Association President Major Manshu Gop, Patratu Circle Inspector Rohit Kumar reached the OP and took stock of the matter.

“Prima facie it seems to be a case of suicide. He was in tension for the last few days. Family problems might be the cause behind it,” said Manshu Gop.

However, the police are investigating the case from every angle. The body has been sent for post-mortem.
