Ramgarh: Police solve Barkakana firing incident, arrest two

Ramgarh, Nov 4: The Barkakana police have busted the firing incident that took place at the Barkakana OP area and arrested the two miscreants involved in it.

On the morning of November 2, bike-borne criminals fired at the purchase manager of the contracting company KK Construction at the construction site of the railway in the Barkakana OP area of ??the district. The bullet had hit the thigh of the manager. He is undergoing treatment at Medanta Hospital in Ranchi.

Ramgarh SP Piyush Pandey in a press conference on Friday said, “Two masked criminals had opened fire at the site of railway quarter construction at Budhbazar in Barkakana.”

A case was registered at the Patratu police station under case number 198/2022. After investigation, police arrested the culprits who were identified as Maneshwar Kumar (27), a resident of Teliatu, Barkakana and Rahul Kumar Mahto (35), a resident of Teliatu, Barkakana. The bike used in the incident has also been confiscated.

“Both arrested persons have a criminal history. A case is registered against Maneshwar Kumar in Patratu and Gola police station under other sections including Arms Act.  At the same time, a case is registered against Rahul Kumar in Patratu police station under other sections including Arms Act.  The accused are being sent to judicial custody.  Soon the police will take them on remand and investigate other aspects of the incident,” the SP added.

Barkakana OP in-charge Vinay Kumar and Safiullah were involved in the arrest of both criminals.
