Ramgarh, Dec 19: Saraswati Kishori Group lac bangles and decorative items production unit in Bhayapur Village, Ramgarh under the FRDP project funded by HDFC Bank and operated by Krishi Gram Vikas Kendra (KGVK) was inaugurated jointly by Brahmdev Mahato, Project Manager Somen Mahato, Social worker Ashok Kumar and Dinesh Munda on Monday.
The speakers present on the occasion said that under the FRDP project run by KGVK, entrepreneurship is being promoted by imparting training to youth and women of rural areas for skill and entrepreneurship development. Women will get a chance to become self-reliant with the establishment of lacquer bangles and decorative similar production units.
Mamta Kumari, Anju Kumari, Soni Kumari, Dimple Kumari, and Yashoda Kumari associated with the production unit said, “We have been trained by KGVK to make bangles and decorative items from lacquer, which instilled confidence in us that we too can do some different business by staying in the village. And we started the business of making bangles and decorative items from lacquer.”
Project Manager Somen Mahato said that there is a lot of demand for lacquer bangles and decorative items in the market and they can be easily prepared at the village level and maximum income can be earned.
A lot of enthusiasm was seen among adolescent girls and women due to this venture. Ward members Anup Kumar Upadhyay, Kartik Kumar, Pinki Devi, Sakoon Devi, Devki Mahato and a large number of rural women and men were present on the occasion.
