Ramgarh, Dec 12: The students of class 10 of Sri Agrasen School, Bhurkunda met the Jharkhand Dragon Boat Team on Monday. Around a hundred students reached Netua Tapu of Patratu Dam under the guidance of the teachers. On reaching there, the students saw an ongoing practice of the dragon boat team.
Apart from this, the students got detailed information regarding the Dragon Boat game. The team’s vice-captain, Dileshwar Munda told that they have been practising under limited resources, but their morale is not broken. In the absence of boats, the players have made indigenous arrangements. They have built a bamboo platform in Patratu Dam. Riding on this, all the players practice running slippers for hours.
Moreover, the team has set a target of winning the gold medal in the National Games which is to be held in Bihar in February but due to the lack of boats, these players are not able to practice properly. There are about 35 players from villages Netua, Melanie, Talatand, Kinni, Hariharpur, and Beecha around the dam including both men and women. “If the government provides the facilities, the next national game can be held at Patratu Dam,” Dileshwar Munda added.
School director Praveen Rajgarhia said, “This opportunity has been given to teach the students how we can move towards our goal even in adverse circumstances. If we have determination and willpower for one defined goal in life, then nothing can stop us from achieving success.”
The students also practised on a bamboo platform under the guidance of Dileshwar Munda.
