Ramgarh: Tata Steel Foundation organizes workshop on ‘Being Ecomatic Students’

Ramgarh, Dec 8: Tata Steel Foundation in association with The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) organizes a workshop session on ‘Being Ecomatic Students’ at the Conference Hall, TSF, West Bokaro on Wednesday.

During the session, Ravi Shankar Das, Associate Fellow, EEA, TERI explained the different types of waste, the need for waste segregation, the difference between biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste, and also the concept of reuse, reduction, and recycling was discussed.

He also demonstrated the use of vegetable and fruit peels, garden and lawn clippings, crop residues, etc. Further to empower young minds, he explained to the students to initiate awareness and action projects at the school/community level to develop solutions to create a sustainable environment.

 

 

Abdullah Mohammad Ateeq, Research Associate, Center for Waste Management spoke about the relevance and opportunity of climate change and waste management. Apart from this, Terry had two sessions at Holy Cross School, and Tata DAV Public School, Chainpur.

A total of 109 students participated in the session which was coordinated by the team of Tata Steel Foundation, West Bokaro.

The session was chaired by Keshav Kumar Ranjan, Unit Head, TSF, Rakesh Kushwaha, Manager Horticulture, West Bokaro Division, Ravi Shankar Das of Tata Steel TERI, Sudhir Kumar Mishra, Tata DAV Public School, Ghatotand and others were present during the session.
