Ramgarh, May 12: Tata Steel’s West Bokaro Division, Ramgarh observed the 167th Birth Anniversary of Pramatha Nath Bose (P N Bose) to commemorate his invaluable contribution towards the setting up of Tata Steel, India’s first integrated steel plant.
A host of activities were organised on the occasion. The day began with a digital homage to P N Bose which was followed by quiz and drawing competitions at Tata DAV Public School, West Bokaro.
More than 180 students from classes 3 to 6 participated in the drawing competition. The topic for classes 3-4 was “Responsible us for a greener tomorrow” and the topic for classes 5-6 was “Building tomorrow with sustainable habits”.
An exciting quiz competition on Geography was organised on the occasion. A total of 5 teams participated, with each team comprising students from classes 3-9. Team A comprising Aarav Prashar, Anmol, Shreshta, Avika Prashar, Khyati and Liza emerged as winners of the quiz competition. On the other hand, Team B comprising Manjot, Sakshain, Sarita, Saurayansh, Roshni, Swarnim and Viddhi bagged the runner up position. A total of 35 students participated in the Quiz competition.
Sharing her experience, Avika Parashar from class 7 said, “The quiz competition was very interesting as all the questions were from the subjects we study in school. It was full of excitement and thrills and all of us were eager to answer. I am happy that Tata Steel organised an eventful quiz competition to mark the Birth Anniversary of P N Bose. We also learned a lot about P N Bose’s life through the exhibition put up in the school.”
Sanjivini Pramanik (Class 6), Swastika Kumari (Class 5), Anamika Pramanik (Class 4) and Shruti Kumari (Class 3) were adjudged winners of the drawing competitions from their respective classes.
The event was organised by the Corporate Communications Department of the West Bokaro Division. An exhibition on the life and journey of pioneering geologist P N Bose was also put up at Tata DAV School for students and teachers.
