Ramgarh, Feb 15: The District Food Vegetable Fruit Traders Association under the Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FJCCI) began an indefinite strike on Wednesday against the Jharkhand government’s new agriculture bill as it will impact farmers adversely and lead to price rise.
During the protest, businessmen hoisted slogans against the state government and demanded the withdrawal of the agriculture tax. They said that the state government has decided to implement the ‘black law’ which will neither benefit food businessmen nor farmers.
Moreover, Amit Sahu, regional vice-president of FJCCI said that businessmen will not accept the ‘black law’ enacted by the state government. After the agriculture tax comes into effect, only corruption will be encouraged and laws will be enacted to promote inflation. Due to this, the general public will suffer price hikes.
Meanwhile, Vinay Kumar Agarwal, Pradeep Gupta, Mukesh Agarwal, Shravan Kumar, Vinod Sah, and Tejpal Mahato along with others were present during the strike.
