Ramgarh: Two convicts sentenced to three years imprisonment

Ramgarh, May 28: Two convicts have been sentenced in the Ramgarh Civil Court for making spurious liquor illegally.  Juvenile Board Magistrate Gautam Kumar, while hearing the case on Saturday, sentenced the convicts Chhotu Poddar and Sagar Poddar to three years imprisonment.

The board pronounced the sentence after listening to the testimony of all the witnesses and the arguments presented by Additional Public Prosecutor Manju Kachhap, apart from the then excise Inspector Pradeep Kumar Sharma, the investigating officer of the case.  The incident is of 2 August 2019.  On that day, the then excise inspector Pradeep Kumar Sharma received secret information that a large quantity of illegal foreign liquor had been stored in a house in Hethgadha of Gola police station area.

It is said that after this the police started action.  Regarding this, Pradeep Sharma raided the said house under his leadership with the help of Gola police from where they got 530.55 litres of illegal spurious foreign liquor.  In this case, he arrested both the minor culprits.
