Ranchi: 119 people jump red light signal, 490 fined for over-speed every day

Ranchi: As many as 119 people are jumping red light in the capital Ranchi every day. Not only this, 490 people are being challaned for over-speeding every day.

According to the data of Ranchi Police, from 31 November 2022 to 6 September 2023, 35642 people have jumped red light in Ranchi. Apart from this, challans of 24,513 people have been issued from July 17 to September 6 this year for over-speeding.

1.14 lakh people found not wearing helmet in four months in Ranchi

 Those who break the traffic rules on the roads of Ranchi are being monitored with high quality CCTV cameras. Smart challans have been started by extracting the owner details from the vehicle number. In the last four months, 1.14 lakh such people have come under the radar who were riding bikes without wearing helmets. E-invoice is being sent based on the data. It is not that only people without helmets have been identified in this. 3232 such people have been identified, who were driving their vehicles in the opposite direction.

Help of more than one thousand equipment

If you break the rules at any intersection, jump red light or break any kind of rule, now a challan will be issued immediately. There are 70 such areas in the city where the traffic police are keeping an eye. The help of more than 1000 devices is being taken for surveillance. RLVD cameras, ANPR cameras and SVD cameras are being used under Intelligent Transit Management System (ITMS). There is only one way to avoid all this i.e you have to follow the rules in the city.
