Ranchi, Dec 6: A mere 20 tons of Agri products such as vegetables are being transported from Ranchi through air cargo to different parts of the countries whereas the capacity is 80 tons.

Notably, on a daily basis, around 25 to 27 different flights fly from Ranchi.

According to cargo officials at Ranchi airport, there is no proper arrangement to carry vegetables from the farmers to the cargo flights at the Ranchi airport. Moreover, the is no facility such as a warehouse in the airport to store the vegetables due to which an adequate amount of vegetables is not reaching the cargo.

However, the Birsa Munda Airport officials say that the marketing of the cargo service facility has to be done by the airlines themselves. Cargo service has been increasing steadily in the last five years. With the increase in awareness, there will be a further increase in cargo service.
