Ranchi, Jan 31: Several members of the All Jharkhand Students’ Union (AJSU) gheraoed the Vice Chancellor Dr Tapan Kumar Shandilya and Registrar Dr Namita Singh of the Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee University on Tuesday under the guidance of AJSU coordinator Abhishek Jha.

Jha demanded that the timings of classes of CA IT department be changed. Notably, the CA IT classes run from 2:00 pm till late evening, as a result of which the girl students of the department face several issues in the evening. AJSU students demanded that in view of the problems faced by the students of the university, the timings of the department should be changed so that the students can attend regular classes earlier without any difficulty.

Jha further said that due to irregularity in conduction of Maths classes, over 50 percent students have failed in the Maths exam recently conducted. He stated that it was a matter of concern for the university, and demanded that the answer sheets be rechecked.

Jha also said that if the university does not take proper action, AJSU will be bound to start agitation in the interest of the students.

The Vice Chancellor of the University assured the members of AJSU that appropriate action would be taken by the University Administration in both issues.
