Ranchi, March 26: The founder of Jai Ho Seva Sanstha and senior vice-president of Ranchi District AJSU Party, Rajkishore Kushwaha, sustained bullet injuries after assailants opened fire on him at Bundu, about 40km from Jharkhand capital.
It was getting to 4.15 am when the incident took place when Kushwaha had come out of his house with his pet dog as a matter of routine.
“As the leader reached near a bush to allow his pet to relieve, assailants, who were four in number, opened fire and escaped. Hearing the bullet sound, locality residents rushed and took the AJSU leader to RIMS,” a locality resident said.
SP (rural) Naushad Alam confirmed the incident saying the victim is out of danger. “Kushwaha sustained a bullet injury to his right shoulder and out of danger.”
Asked about the reason behind the incident, SP (rural) Alam said, “Primary investigation suggested dispute over bus stand contract. Assailants have been identified.”
Probed further he said: “A conclusive statement can be given only after completion of the investigation, which has been started.”
A police official said a 7.65 mm shell from the spot was recovered.
