Ranchi: In a major stride toward digital self-reliance, tech expert Sunil Kumar Singh launched the indigenous super app ZKTOR at a press event in Ranchi Press Club. Developed entirely with Indian technology and without any foreign funding or government aid, ZKTOR emerges as a strong contender against global apps, especially in the area of data privacy and digital sovereignty.

From Finland to Ranchi: A Vision Reimagined

After two decades in Finland’s high-tech sector, Sunil Kumar Singh returned to India to harness his international expertise. Collaborating with a team of young engineers from Ranchi, Singh spearheaded the development of ZKTOR, aiming to offer privacy-focused, cost-effective, and independent digital infrastructure.

Zero Foreign Control, 100% Indian DNA

ZKTOR has been built on a self-funded model, ensuring no external control over operations or data governance. Inspired by ISRO’s frugal innovation model, the app runs at 6 to 8 times lower cost than similar foreign platforms, enhancing its long-term sustainability.

Next-Gen Security Features

The app boasts a unique No-URL architecture, preventing public links from being created when users share photos or videos—thus curbing risks like content theft, deepfakes, or illegal downloads. It also uses a Zero Knowledge System, ensuring even the developers or admins can’t access user chats or data. All user data is stored securely on India-based servers.

Empowering Creators and Expanding Reach

With successful testing in Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Bangladesh, ZKTOR now eyes broader South Asian adoption. Notably, creators on the platform receive 70% of their earnings directly, a major boost for India’s growing digital economy.

Ranchi’s Youth at the Core

Local talent played a pivotal role in shaping ZKTOR. The platform not only enhances India’s digital security landscape but also places Ranchi on the global tech innovation map.
