Ranchi: Burglars decamp with ornaments worth Rs 22 lakh, Rs 2 lakh cash

Ranchi, Jan.10: In an incident of burglary, thieves decamped with Rs 2 lakh cash and ornaments worth Rs 22 lakh kept for marriage purpose from two flats near the fruit market behind the power sub-station in Harmu Housing Colony under the Argora police station.

 

The incident took place yesterday evening between 7.30pm to 10.30pm when the flat owners, who are their siblings, had gone to attend a marriage ceremony at Chutia.

 

Officer -in-charge of Argora police station Binod Kumar confirmed the theft saying an FIR has been registered in this connection and investigation has been started.

 

The victims include Rana Arun and his brother Rana Suman. Arun lost Rs 2 lakh cash and ornaments worth Rs 7 lakh. Suman lost ornaments worth Rs 15 lakh.
