Ranchi, Oct 26: As the city prepares itself for the celebration of the Chhath festival in the coming few days, the Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) is also trying its best as it has notified the dangerous ghats in the district which can be a matter of concern as far as incidents are concerned.
RMC Deputy Mayor Sanjeev Vijayvargiya while talking to lagatar24.com said that RMC has identified certain ghats that are dangerous and will be barricaded using bamboo and red ribbon so that people don’t cross them.
“I do not know the exact number of ghats but places such as Gonda Dam, Taniya Talab, Chadri Talab, Tiril Talab, Banas Talab and Doranda Talab MAchli Ghar) are a few of them which are dangerous and we will be barricading them,” the deputy mayor said.
He added that they have informed about it to the DC and the DC will further inform Disaster Management to provide NDRF in these ghats.
Amitabh Kaushal, Secretary at the Department of Home, Jail & Disaster Management (Disaster Management) informed Lagatar24.com that they have two NDRF teams, one in Deoghar and one in Ranchi, and they are the ones who are available for emergencies. He added that on the basis of availability forces are deployed in the mentioned places.
RMC has also upped their gears and has accelerated the cleaning of all the ghats in the cities as the city preps up to worship the Solar deity, Surya.
