Ranchi, Mar 16: Covid vaccination for all children in the age group of 12-14 years started in Ranchi from Sadar Hospital where Ranchi Civil Surgeon Dr Vinod Kumar started the campaign by giving the vaccine to a child named Abhigyan Kundu.
The vaccination administered for the 12-14 years is Biological E-led Corbevax which will be given to 2.11 lakh children of the district.
On the first day of vaccination, it started at three centres in the city. Apart from Sadar Hospital, Government Middle School Jagannathpur and Government Middle School Pandara will be vaccinating the children.
CS Dr Vinod Kumar said that on the instructions of the Government of India, vaccination of children in the age limit of 12 to 14 years has been started in the Ranchi district. Work is being done by the guidelines of the Central Government.
At the same time, after taking the vaccine, a girl named Bhumika said that due to Corona, studies have been interrupted in the last two years. “I feel safe after taking the vaccine today. Now, I will go to school and play outside too.”
On the other hand, a kid named Keshari Nandan Jaiswal said, “Everyone at home has taken the vaccine and today I also took the vaccine which makes me feel that I am safe now.”
Covid-19 vaccination for 12-13 years and 13-14 years age groups would be for those born in 2008, 2009, and 2010. i.e. those who are already above 12 years of age on March 16, 2022.
Corbevax will have 2 doses with an interval of 28 days for the 12-14 years cohort. Covaxin is currently available for the 14-18 years age group.
For registering for the vaccination, one can open the Co-WIN portal using the link www.cowin.gov.in and click on the ‘Register/Sign In’ tab and follow the steps thereafter.
You will be asked to enter a valid mobile number. After entering the number, the ‘Get OTP’ option will be available. Upon requesting an OTP, you will receive a one-time password on your mobile number. Feed the OTP in the required box on the portal and hit ‘verify’.
Once you are registered on the portal, you can find the vaccination slots.
