Ranchi, April 18: Ranchi Customs Circle today recovered 1000kg marijuana from a truck on the way to Mohania in Varanasi, UP from Sambalpur in Odisha.
The price of the marijuana was estimated to be Rs 1.5 crore. Two persons have been detained in this connection.
Chief of Ranchi Custom Circle Sanchit Prasad confirmed the breakthrough saying the place where the truck was intercepted was at Rampur on Ranchi-Tata Road. The place is hardly 40km from the Jharkhand capital.
Prasad said assistance from the Central GST team was also taken for the work. Further investigation is going on, he added.
