Ranchi DC paves path for disbursement of scholarship to 16,248 students

Ranchi, Jan 19: Deputy Commissioner of Ranchi, Chhavi Ranjan, has paved the path for the disbursement of the scholarship to 16,248 students whose scholarship amount is pending with the district welfare department. He took the decision during a virtual review meeting of the welfare department today.

During the review of the pre/post-matric and minority scholarship scheme District Welfare Officer Sangeeta Sharan informed that out of the total verified one lakh 2 thousand 800 students in post matriculation, so far 45 thousand 428 students have been paid a scholarship of Rs 41,68,88456.

She also informed that out of 5048 students verified by various educational institutions at the district level, 1165 students have been sanctioned scholarships at the district level on which DC directed officials to pay the scholarship of the remaining students without delay.

While reviewing the Birsa Housing Scheme, the DC said that all the schemes under the scheme should be started. Under the supervision of the Block Welfare Officer, the Deputy Commissioner gave instructions to bring progress in the schemes.

While reviewing the Sarna-Masna site construction, Dhumkudiya construction plan, the Deputy Commissioner directed to complete the pending proposals at the earliest.

While reviewing the Chief Minister’s Employment Generation Scheme, Chief Minister’s Livestock Scheme and Medical Grant Scheme, the DC directed to create more and more applications so that the eligible people could get the benefit.

During the review of the renovation of the hostel, the Deputy Commissioner said that the arrangement of the roof, toilet etc. of the hostel should be better. He directed the executive engineers of all the departments concerned to prepare the estimates for all the hostels to be repaired. He said that all the renovation and repair works should be completed in time.

Project Director ITDA, Sudhir Bada; District Welfare Officer Sangeeta Sharan and other concerned officials were present in the meeting organized through the virtual medium.
