Ranchi, Feb.21: The District administration deputed three magistrates at Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) paying ward, where Lalu Prasad Yadav, who was convicted in a case of fodder scam on February 15 and was pronounced sentence today, has been admitted for proper medical care during his jail term.
The step was taken after it came to the knowledge of the district administration that the high-profile prisoner was violating the jail manual misusing his influence.
Magistrates will remain present in the hospital in three shifts and prevent unauthorized entry. To assist the magistrate a jail official will also remain present.
“According to the jail manual, no one can meet a convicted prisoner without prior permission of the jail administration and that too on Saturdays. The Magistrate will stop unauthorized entry while jail officials will ensure whether the entry is authorized or not after proper verification of documents and talking to the jail superintendent,” an official at the district collectorate said.
