Dhanbad, Jan 30: Indian Medical Association (IMA) national body has nominated Dr Ajay Kumar Singh from Ranchi as a member of the IMA Standing Committee for Building for the term of 2023-2024.
Notably, IMA national body secretary general Dr Anil Kumar J Nayak has in this regard issued a notification to all states chapter of IMA saying that IMA national president Dr Sharad Kumar Agrawal had reconstituted a 10-member Standing Committee for Building.
In the 10-member elite committee, Dr Ajay Kumar Singh is the lone member from Bihar, Jharkhand. Other members are Dr Atul Pandya (Gujarat), Dr Chandrika Malik (Haryana), Dr Natwar Sharda (Madhya Pradesh), Dr Sunil Chugh (Rajasthan), Dr K Prakasm (Tamil Nadu), Dr Abul Kasem Molla (Bengal), Dr Akhilesh Verma (Chhattisgarh), Dr Gulam M Malik (Jammu and Kashmir) Dr Sandeep Bhaskar Naik (Maharashtra).
Notably, Dr Prashant Nikhande is the chairman, Dr Rajiv Goel of Uttar Pradesh is the co-chairman and Dr Anil Agrawal is the convenor of the committee.

Dr Ajay Kumar Singh, the renowned plastic surgeon of Jharkhand–Bihar has been active in IMA for more than 50 years. At present, he is a Central Working Committee member of IMA headquarters in Delhi and state coordinator of IMA Jharkhand and patron of the Plastic Surgeons’ Association of Bihar-Jharkhand.
Moreover, Dr Singh is also the past national vice-president of the IMA national body and senior consultant plastic surgeon.
Moreover, the IMA Bihar chapter felicitated Dr Ajay Kumar Singh and presented ‘Dr AKN Sinha Rashtriya Samman 2023’ on Republic Day at Patna for his outstanding service in the medical field and the welfare of doctors. Dr Singh is the first doctor of Jharkhand to get this prestigious award.
