Ranchi, Dec 15: An international-level sports stadium will be built in Ranchi by Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee University (DSPMU) which will be built at Padmashree Ramdayal Munda Maidan. It will also have facilities for most of the games played in the indoor stadium including cricket and football. The format of the stadium is being prepared. For this, the opinion of experts is being taken by the university administration.
Apart from the pavilion, this stadium will also have other facilities including a commentary room, broadcasting room and dining area. Apart from these, a three-floor building will also be constructed in the stadium. There will be accommodation for players and guests on one floor, apart from this there will also be a canteen.
On the second floor, arrangements will be made to study courses related to various sports and Bachelor of Physical Education will also be taught. The syllabus for this is also being prepared. The university administration is very excited about this state-of-the-art stadium.
Preparations are underway to start work as soon as possible. After the construction, DSPMU will become the first university to have an international-level stadium. So far, no university has a state-of-the-art stadium. For sports tournaments, one has to depend on different grounds of the city and grounds under different institutions.
Moreover, a separate court will also be prepared for badminton and table tennis in this stadium. Students of DSPMU will be able to avail of this facility. Apart from cricket and football, the stadium will also have facilities for sports to be held in the indoor stadium. These will mainly include badminton, table tennis, gymnastics, basketball, kabaddi and other games.
Furthermore, students will be able to improve themselves in that direction by selecting games according to their interests. At the same time, different sports competitions will also be organised by the university, in which players will get a chance to show their skills.
