Ranchi, Nov 24: The Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee University on Thursday commemorated the final day of the ongoing four-day youth festival Spandan 2022. Students of the university performed various routines of dances and songs on the occasion.

Vice Chancellor of Ranchi University Dr Ajit Kumar Sinha and Registrar Dr MC Mehta were present as Chief Guests. Vinay Bharat, assistant professor of ELL department, presented his poetry, while University Registrar Dr Namita Singh also presented a song. Over 5,000 students attended the programme.

Meanwhile, in the middle of the programme, 10 to 12 outsiders entered the university premises and created a ruckus, while misbehaving with girls. The volunteers present there initially made them leave, however, despite being thrown out, the miscreants came back inside and started shouting and a fight broke out on the occasion. Three students got caught up and were injured as well. Vice Chancellor Dr Tapan Kumar Shandilya sent the injured students for treatment.

VC Dr Shandilya in this regard commented that the program was going well and the students were peacefully enjoying the programme. “Around 10 to 12 people came from outside and created a ruckus. In the meantime, the children of our university came to the rescue and there was a fight that injured three students. The programme was postponed and the students were sent back home.”
