Ranchi, July 19: Vice Chancellor Tapan Kumar Shandilya of the Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee University on Tuesday reviewed the Tribal and Regional Languages (TRL) department of the university. . In this sequence, keeping in mind the size of the department and the number of students, he talked about the renewal of its infrastructure.
After this, he was informed of the departmental conditions during interaction with the teachers here. Dr Vinod Kumar, the professor of the department, presented his book, Khortha: a cultural study of folk songs, written in Khortha to the VC.
Seeing him briefly on the spot, the Vice Chancellor said that it is clear from the title of the book that it will be easy for us to understand the heritage of Jharkhand as well as its social, cultural and political background through the book.
Describing it as useful especially for the students of Khortha, he said that any collection especially related to Jharkhand is always readable and collectible from the point of view of information and interest. On this occasion, he urged the teachers to take initiative towards opening the departmental museum so that the students of the university could benefit from it.
Vice-Chancellor Dr. Shandilya further said that it was his priority to personally visit various departments of the University and establish direct communication with the teachers so that the academic and academic environment can be developed by being aware of the department-wise situation.
