Ranchi, Jan 11: An 18-year-old student Shagufta Parveen committed suicide in her hostel by hanging herself on Wednesday morning. The incident took place at Shreya Girls Hostel located under the Lalpur police station area.
Notably, SP (rural) Naushad Alam having an additional charge of SP(city) confirmed the incident saying a probe has been started to ascertain the reason behind the suicide.
“She was from Lalpania in Bokaro district. Hostel management informed the police about the incident. I have asked officials of Lalpur police station to probe the matter properly,” Ahmed said.
The dead body of the girl was sent to RIMS for autopsy and information has been given to the girl’s family members regarding the incident.
