Ranchi, Dec 5: The Railway Hospital situated near the DRM office in Hatia will soon be getting a makeover where the number of beds and doctors is expected to go up. Currently, there are around 40 beds in the hospital which is expected to get another 20 extra posts the renovation.
In this regard, the South Eastern Railway has sent a proposal to the Railway Board. Once it is approved, the hospital is expected to get equipped with much more modern equipment.
Currently, the condition of the hospital is not up to the mark and many necessary equipment that are needed are missing and there is no facility for blood tests as well. According to sources, the hospital is being managed by just three to four doctors.
Senior DCM of Ranchi Nishant Kumar said that after the renovation, the number of doctors will go up to 15 and the hospital will have different wards for male and female patients. Apart from this, ICU, isolation ward, OT and ultrasound facilities will also be available.
The hospital has a total of two ventilators but there are no technicians who can function them. The hospital had earlier started the procedure to hire technicians to function the ventilator but it was not completed. Moreover, the doctor has always lacked adequate medicines and doctors in the past.
