Ranchi inter-school badminton: DAV Bariatu, Marwari +2 emerge girls and boys team champion

Ranchi, July 29: DAV Bariatu and Marwari +2 School Upper Bazar bagged  girls and boys team champion trophy respectively in the 10th Ranchi District Inter-School Badminton Championship  held at  Indoor Stadium Khelgaon.

Over 300 boys and girls of 30 Ranchi schools had participated in the championship organized by the Ranchi District Badminton Association.

In the final played on Friday evening, DAV  Bariatu  School girls team defeated Sarla Birla Public School. St Xavier School got the third position.

In boys team championship final, Marwari +2 School beat St Xavier ‘A’. Springdales Public School Patra Toli got the 3rd position.
In individual events, Ananya Singh of DAV Bariatu and Shambhavi Burman of BWGS Namkum  wore double  crowns in the championship.

Ananya  won girls under -19 singles title defeating Khushi Priya of her own school while in under-17  singles final  she  beat Shreya Sheetal Horo of St Xavier School.  Garima Kashyap (DAV) and Aditi Sneh (Cambrian) got the 3rd position jointly.

Shambhavi Burman won her first title of girls’ under-15 defeating Puja Kumari of R.T. G in final while she bagged her 2nd titles in girl’s under-13 beating Vanya Khanna of Loreto Convent. Venya Yadav (Kairali School) ) and Prerna Shome 9 Loyla Convent) got 3rd position.

Swati Vats (JVM School) and Hishita Bora ( Sarla Birla Public School)  got the joint third position in girls under -15.
State’s star player Niraj Kesri and Deepak Mahto of Marwari+2 won boys under-19 and under 17 singles title respectively.
Niraj defeated Ankit Gope of his own school in final while Deepak beat Mohit Raj of DAV Bariatu in final. Anubhav Srivastava (Guru Nanak School) and Mohit Raj got 3rd position in under- 19.
Sachin Gope (Marwari+2) and Sagar Banjara (St Xavier) got the 3rd position jointly.

Manas Ranjan of Springdales School won boys under-15 singles defeating Prabhat Ranjan Sinha of Sarla Birla Public School. Jimmy Gerald Ekka (Don Bosco) and Ayush Jha (Gandhi Nagar School) got 3rd spot.
Samvith Ramesh of St Xavier School bagged boys under-13 singles title beat Md  Mojahir Raja of Springdales School. Pratyush Pranjal ( Sharda Global School) and Ram Ratan ( Springdales School got 3rd position.

In the closing ceremony Manoj Kumar ex-president RDBA  was chief guest. RDBA secretary NK Dey, tournament committee chairman Uma Palit, Referee Avinash Kumar Tiwary, match controller Washim Akram were also present.
