Ranchi, Jan.7: His mother teaches commerce and father deals in electric vehicles but Ashwik Samanta, a student of class-Prep of Jawahar Vidya Mandir, Shyamli, loves animals and wildlife.

This came to the fore after he was appreciated by the India Book of Records 2022 for recalling the names of 104 uncommon creatures within 70 seconds.

Ashwik, being a lover of animals and wildlife, was keenly interested since his early childhood days. This inquisitiveness tempted him to know more about wildlife and developed this exceptional talent.

He recalled uncommon water animals, reptiles, birds and land animals within a short time of 70 seconds and created this record.

Mother of Ashwik, Shovona Choudhury, who teaches commerce at Amity University, said that the boy takes a keen interest in animals and often restrains her even to use any mosquito repellent to ensure safety of creatures.

“He instead of playing likes to know about animals and wildlife,” Choudhury said.

Asked Choudhury regarding any connection of the boy with animals and wildlife lovers, she said ‘no’ adding that his father Abhishek Samant is a chemical engineer, who deals in electric vehicles.

Asked how come the boy got the opportunity to learn all this, she said “You Tube helped him a lot.”

Contacted the boy, he did not take a single second to name creatures according to their place of living expressing his interest in the field.
