Jamshedpur, Jan 10: Kanke, the state’s cold cauldron recorded a freezing point for the second consecutive day today. The observatory at the Birsa Agriculture University ( BAU ) recorded a minimum temperature of zero degree Celsius on Tuesday.

Notably, a bone-numbing chill is expected to prevail in the next 24 hours because of the dominating North wind.

Moreover, Daltonganj recorded around 6.5 degree Celsius while the capital Ranchi recorded a minimum temperature of 9.3 degree Celsius today.

The local IMD observatory in Jamshedpur recorded 10 degree Celsius for the second consecutive day today. The cold wave was prevailing in isolated pockets of the state.

Head of Ranchi Met Centre Abhishek Anand however said the minimum reading would witness a rise by one or two degree Celsius after the next 24 hours due to the impact of a western disturbance.
