Ranchi, March 30: Lack of supply of fuels to the fuel stations across the city such as Hindustan Petroleum, Reliance and Nayara Energy is causing difficulties to the pump owners as well as the general public. The situation is such that at some fuel stations there is no fuel whereas some have just the branded ones.
Due to lack of fuel, the majority of these stations have been shut for the last few days. HP petrol pump situated at Ratu Road has not had fuel since Sunday whereas the fuel station at Ranchi-Khunti highway has been empty for the last two days.
One of the petrol pump staff from the HP petrol pump at Ratu Road has said that there has been no supply of fuel since last week and it is really becoming difficult for them to cope with the loss.
“We have not been getting fuel supply since Sunday and many customers are returning with disappointment. Our pump is one of the main petrol pumps in this area and lack of fuel is a cause of concern for the people,” he said.
The dealers of Reliance and Nayara petrol pumps have said that the supply has been halted for the last one week. Reliance petrol pumps do not have any supply of petrol whereas only 50 percent diesel has been supplied till now. There are more than 40 petrol pumps of HP in and around Ranchi. The reason for the lack of supply is still unknown and is a matter of concern.
Some petrol pumps across the city are getting fuel in a very limited supply. Many dealers have said that the company is facing a loss of Rs. 15-20 per litre on retail sales. Such a situation is making it tough for the companies to supply fuel in losses. Currently, the price of petrol in the city is Rs. 104 per litre whereas that of diesel is Rs. 91.56 per litre.
