Ranchi: Marwari College organises event for staff, students on World Yoga Day

Ranchi, June 21: The Marwari College commemorated the International Yoga Day with a yoga programme for the teaching and non-teaching staff along with students. As per officials, large numbers of college personnel along with students participated in the programme.

The programme began with a discussion of the importance of ‘Om’. After this, attendees participated in physical activities with subtle yoga poses. Instructors informed all of the importance and usefulness of each of the poses that were performed. Participants later practised Pranayama.

Principal Dr Manoj Kumar in his address said that one can discipline life and improve mental and physical health by the use of Yoga. A disciplined and healthy person tackles every obstacle in life, he added.

Prof. in-charge Dr R R Sharma in his speech gave the example of his life and further highlighted the importance of yoga. Dr P K Jha wished everyone on the occasion of International Yoga Day.

Prof. Arvind and Prof. Rajak were the yoga instructors on the occasion. Dr Maheshwar Sarangi, Dr B B Mahto, Bada Babu Sameer Niranjan, NSS Programme Officer Anubhav Chakraborty along with others were present on the occasion.
