Ranchi, Aug.12: Ranchi MP Sanjay Seth has demanded a direct air service from Ranchi to North-East states.
In a meeting with Civil Aviation and Steel minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, Seth told the minister that a direct flight will help promote religious tours and business besides other allied works.
The MP apart from a direct flight for the North Eastern states of the country also demanded a direct air service for Darbhanga, Varanasi, Jaipur, Bhopal, Goa and Deoghar from Ranchi based Birsa Munda Airport saying it was a need of hour.
On the occasion, the parliamentarian also discussed the parking problem at Birsa Munda Airport and demanded extension of the parking area.
The MP urged the minister that there is a need to start weekly flights from Ranchi to Dubai, Bangkok and Thailand also to facilitate the travel of a large number of citizens going to these countries for tourism purposes.
He requested the minister to direct the Ranchi airport management to give wide publicity to the Government of India’s scheme of exporting fruits and vegetables abroad through air.
