Ranchi, Aug.10: Three miscreants who had threatened to blow up the Ranchi airport have finally been nabbed.
The three include Nirman Kumar alias Maruti, Pappu Kumar alias Kudi and Radhe Kumar. They were arrested from Nalanda. The ages of the three are 24, 23 and 29 years respectively. All three are residents of Nalanda.
A special team constituted by Ranchi Police chief Kishor Kaushal got the work done.
The arrested accused confessed their crime in front of the police. At the same time, the mobile used in the incident has been confiscated from them.
Regarding Maruti, the police said he is a drug addict. Only after getting intoxicated, he used to call the Director of Birsa Munda Airport on 8584892151. The call was made for the first time on 28 July. It is alleged that that day Maruti told the director of Ranchi airport that four of his men had gone inside the airport with four powerful bombs in a bag. If he does not listen to him, the airport will be blown up.
After this threat, there was chaos in the entire airport premises. The CISF personnel posted there silently searched the entire airport, but no suspect was caught. After this, the threat was made again on 29 July. Then on August 1 again the threat call was received.
The airport and district police administration took the matter of receiving three consecutive threats very seriously. In the wake of Independence Day, once again with the help of sniffer dogs, the entire airport was peeped in every corner. From the pot containing the flowers to corners was seen. At the same time, the checking of passengers was tightened. Passengers coming from outside were also strictly checked. Due to this strictness, some passengers also got angry, but after extinguishing the persuasion, they stopped objecting.
Meanwhile, the location of the threatening person was obtained from the technical cell. After this a special team was sent to Nalanda, from where Nirman Kumar alias Maruti, Pappu Kumar alias Kudi and Radhe Kumar were arrested.
