Ranchi, June 16: The Ranchi police have asked the Muslim community members not to offer Namaz on the road on Friday.
Officer-in-charge of Lower Bazar police station Sanjay Kumar informed lagatar24.com about it when contacted for his comment on police preparation for Friday prayer amid enforcement of section 144 of CrPC under which four or more than four people are not allowed to assemble at one place.
“We expect Muslim brothers to maintain their normal Friday routine. It means they can go to offer Namaz at the mosques where they go as a matter of Friday routine. They are advised not to go to mosques of other localities for crowding. They have been asked not to offer prayers on the road in the interest of peace and harmony,” OC Kumar said.
Anjuman Islamia has responded positively to the call of the police and has issued an instruction in this regard.
General Secretary of Ranchi Anjuman Islamia, Mokhtar Ahmed, through a letter asked all the Muslims of Ranchi to offer prayers on June 17, 2022, in the mosques of their respective areas.
While requesting to offer prayer in the mosques of their respective area, it also warned parents to take care of their children and restrain them from spreading any rumour or baseless information. He also asked the parents to ask their children to ignore the instruction of those calling them for a procession.
Amid spread of instruction for the Friday prayer, the district administration has also made precautionary arrangements to handle the situation in case of violation of the police instruction and the Muslim body.
As many as 5000 police personnel equipped with riot control vehicles have been deployed at strategic locations majority of which falls under five police stations of the city including Kotwali, Lower Bazar, Hindpiri, Daily Market and Chutia.
Earlier in the afternoon a mock drill was performed and security personnel were made aware of standard operating procedure.
