Ranchi railway division employee felicitated for exemplary safety work

Jamshedpur, Dec 15: A railway employee of South Eastern Railway’s Ranchi division was feted for his exemplary safety work.

Saurav Kumar Gaurav, gatekeeper, Muri of South Eastern Railway’s Ranchi division was felicitated by Archana Joshi, general manager of South Eastern Railway at Garden Reach in Kolkata today  for devotion to duty, safety consciousness and commendable performance as frontliner staff.

On the evening of September 21  this year Saurav Kumar Gaurav,  a gatekeeper, while performing duty at a manned level crossing in Muri-Chandil section of Ranchi division, suddenly noticed that one tank wagon of a goods train had caught fire on its top.

Gaurav acted immediately and reported the matter to the station manager of Latemda regarding the incident.

The train was controlled at the next station, Tiruldih and the fire was extinguished.

Thus, a major fire incident was averted due to the alertness and sincerity of the railway employee.

Every year South Eastern Railway felicitates railway employees for their exemplary work.

Several employees of South Eastern Railways Ranchi and Chakradharpur division have been felicitated in the past for their exemplary work.
