Ranchi, Jan 22: A dialogue programme was organised on Sunday on three books ‘Kalash’, ‘Path Ke Prakash Punj’ and ‘Srishti Ka Mukut: Kailash Mansarovar’ by Rajya Sabha Deputy Speaker, journalist and social thinker Harivansh Narayan Singh.
The dialogue was organised by Ranchi Press Club on its premises. During this, Harivansh shared the intention behind writing the books and his experiences.
Several dignitaries including senior journalist Balbeer Dutt, Rajya Sabha MP Mahua Maji, Managing Director of ‘Prabhat Khabar’ K K Goenka, former Rajya Sabha MP Mahesh Poddar, Vijay Pathak, Ranchi Press Club president Sanjay Mishra among others were present on the occasion.
Later, the people present asked the author questions regarding his experience while working on the three books.
Talking about his first book ‘Kalash’, Harivansh said that the book contains 32 articles. These contain information about working with a newspaper, his personal experiences with people he met and interacted with, and those he believed in. The working style of the people who inspired him is also mentioned in this book.
These people include Achyut Patwardhan who was a freedom fighter, and who adopted spirituality immediately after getting freedom. The book also talks of Prof Krishnanath, a scholar of economics and a close mentor of Ram Manohar Lohia and Jaya Prakash Narayan, who later was attracted towards religion-spirituality. Similarly, the book shares the experiences of people with extraordinary abilities including Ramakrishna Paramhans, Maharishi Arvind among others.
Talking of his second book, ‘Path Ke Prakash Punj’ Harivansh said that it has 27 articles. He further added that these talk of the lives of those people who were extraordinary in their fields of work. The works done by such people in education, social, politics, industry, and journalism are discussed in the second book.
The author said that the book discusses the lives of Swami Vivekananda, Mahatma Gandhi, Lohia, Baba Amte, George Washington, Madame Curie, esteemed Ranchi doctor KK Sinha, and RK Talwar among others.
Harivansh further added that there are 16 chapters in his third book ‘Crown of Creation: Kailash Mansarovar’. The book talks about the meeting and experiences of Swami Madhavanand ji living in Chinmaya Ashram located in Ranchi. The author further added that in 2011 he visited Kailash Mansarovar. The difficulties he experienced in the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra are also described in the book.
