Ranchi, April 15: The victim of gang rape was used as means to trap another. The incident took place at Dhurwa in the Jharkhand capital. The Police registered a case in this matter and so far arrested five, including a minor involved in the crime.

A police official informed this explaining how the crime was committed

“The 29-year-old woman was having a dispute with her husband. She had come to her sister-in-law’s house. Late on Thursday night, her sister-in-law sent her to the house along with a nearby youth, Avinash (24). On the way, Avinash’s intentions got spoiled. He took her to a secluded place under the Dhurwa police station area and raped her. After committing rape he called his five friends more. After they committed rape and the woman requested to release her, the six rapists asked her to call another girl for her safe release. Finding her in trouble, the woman called another. As another girl reached, they committed gang rape with them also,” the police official said without disclosing the exact place of occurrence and identity of the victims.

The police official said: “After committing rape the accused left threatening both of them of dire consequences in case of revelation of the incident.”

By Friday morning, 5 out of 6 accused were arrested. Raids are on to trace one of the accused Ravi. Both the girls have been sent to Sadar Hospital for medical examination

Officer-in-charge of Dhurwa police station Praveen Kumar confirmed the incident saying ‘five of the six involved in the incident have been arrested while raids are on to trace the sixth.’ Probed further he said: “Investigation is on. Victims have been sent to Sadar Hospital for medical examination. It is a peculiar case in which a victim was used to victimize others.’
