Ranchi, July 16: The Central Government’s Department of Health Research has provided funds worth Rs 30 lakh to the state-run Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) to conduct various researches for a span of three-years. The fund has been provided as a support to the institution.
Dr Arpita Roy from RIMS gave detailed information about the help provided by Department of Health Research.
“The department of health has provided us with funds worth Rs 30 lakh (Rs 10 lakh for one year). During the span of these three years, RIMS will be conducting various fellowships and researches. The first fellowship took place on April 19 where a total of 40 medical professionals (Faculty, PG and PHD students) from various medical and dental institutes participated. Out of these, 32 were awarded with the fellowships on the basis of their performance,” she said.
She added that RIMS has become one of the first hospitals in the country to get support from Department of Health to conduct research. She further explained that during the fellowship, special emphasis will be paid on how to do research.
