Ranchi, June 22: Keeping in mind the complicated process of getting a birth and death certificate made, the Ranchi Municipal Corporation is working to help applicants. A proposal in this regard has been prepared by the District Statistics Department and sent to Ranchi DC for approval.

According to the proposal, in the coming days, all the hospitals under Ranchi Municipal Corporation jurisdiction will be connected to the Municipal Corporation, after which the birth and death certificates will be issued from the hospital itself.

Notably, all the hospitals in the Municipal Corporation area will be connected to the Municipal Corporation login account. The hospital management will upload all the necessary documents along with an application to the login of the Municipal Corporation upon the birth of a child in the said hospital. Here, the registrar will check and prepare the certificate and upload it to the hospital’s page.

Vimal Kumar, District Statistical Officer, in this regard said, “There is a plan to connect the hospitals with the municipal corporation. A proposal has been prepared in this regard, which has been sent to the DC for approval. The implementation of the proposed scheme will bring great relief to the common people.”

“At present, it is the responsibility of the Municipal Corporation to make these certificates. However, the certificate is issued only after the verification of the statistics officer and magistrate. The time limit for making these certificates is fixed at seven days, but the applicants have to keep making rounds of the municipal corporation and magistrate office for months,” said a town planner at RMC over the condition of not mentioning his name.

“The applicants sometimes even use middlemen, who ask them for large sums of money to get the certificate made. The new scheme will notably help overcome these problems,” he added.

He further said that the applicant will now not face much trouble with the certificates now. The whole process will be done by the hospital management. As soon as the green signal is received on the proposal, the hospital staff will be given training according to this scheme, so that all the necessary papers can be uploaded on time. After the paper is uploaded, the certificate will be ready within two-three days, which can be obtained from the hospital itself.
