Ranchi: Four landowners have filed an FIR at Kanke police station alleging that about half of the Rs 4.51 crore compensation paid for land acquired for the proposed Transport Nagar at Sukurhutu was taken as commission by a middleman. Kanke station in-charge Kunal confirmed the FIR.

Half of Compensation Allegedly Moved to Middleman’s Account

The landowners allege that Rs 2,25,77,571 of the total Rs 4,51,55,805 was transferred to the account of a middleman, Nurul Hoda, who allegedly colluded with land acquisition department staff, in the name of getting them their compensation. The complainants include Motilal Pahan, Tetri Devi, Jhanku Pahan and one other landowner. They also questioned the role of some land acquisition employees and submitted an application to the Ranchi Deputy Commissioner seeking action.

DC Orders Inquiry and FIR

The DC has ordered an inquiry and directed that an FIR be registered at Kanke police station against Nurul Hoda and land acquisition department staff Amit Kumar Gupta, Rajkumar Mahto and Harsh Lal Shahdeo.

Compensation Details

The four landowners from Dohi Toli, Sukurhutu, received Rs 2,65,98,625 for plots 471 and 588 under khata 525, and Rs 1,85,57,180 for plots 506 and 507 under khata 570, totalling Rs 4,51,55,805. They say the amount reached their bank accounts in two instalments on March 17 and March 30, 2026.
