Ranchi, Sept 5: A student of a prominent school in Ranchi is learnt to have committed suicide after a parents teachers’ meeting at his school. Sources aware of the development said that the said student who was a boy was hurt following the behaviour of his father as well as his class teacher. He apparently jumped off from the roof top of his house.

“I came to know about it as somebody told me. But I am not in a position to tell anything about this matter, not even who the student was and where he lived. I don’t have much information on exactly what happened and how it all happened,” well placed sources confirmed.

Notably, a few students of the same school were said to have earlier been involved in a brawl. It was said that the deceased was also involved in the incident. When the school management decided to inform their parents and raise this issue during PTM, the said student pleading not guilty requested school administration not to call his father.

It was learnt that the father of the deceased is an alcoholic and he did not have a very good tuning with his father. But the school administration thought the deceased was making an alibi, hence his father was called to attend the PTM.

However, during the PTM on August 30, the teacher informed the father of the incident, which resulted in the father scolding and punishing him in full public glare. The boy is said to have felt humiliated and he committed suicide.

However, when contacted, a senior official from Ranchi Police said that they don’t have any information regarding the unfortunate death of the student. “We can look into this matter if details are provided,” said the official. Unconfirmed sources said that the deceased boy left a suicide note blaming his father and school teacher for the sorry end of his life.
