Ranchi, Feb.18: Former Mandar MLA and a member of Tana Bhagat Development Authority (TBDA), Ganga Tana Bhagat, wants claims of Tana Bhagats to continue on that portion of Morhabadi ground where they stay and offer regular prayer.

The former MLA Bhagat shared his feeling with Lagatar 24.com saying that since the civic authority demarcated the same space for the vendor market where Tana Bhagats stay for the last many years it has become a matter of concern for the TBDA.

“Though the land is not settled in favour of Tana Bhagats, the administration should not do anything which will pave the path of their deprivation from the use of land as they have been performing prayer for a long time and organise regular meetings,” the former MLA said.

The octogenarian Tana Bhagat leader said at a time when a lot of steps have been taken for the welfare of Tana Bhagats such a situation is a matter of concern.

Contacted an official of Ranchi Municipal Corporation for his comment on the matter, he said the matter is already under consideration.

“After Tana Bhagats raised objection over the demarcation of the land they are using for the vendor market, the idea of developing the market was aborted. Now what next step will be taken will be decided later. Since a petition taking the vendor’s problem has reached before the high court, it is difficult to give any conclusive statement in the matter. Since there is no project planned for Tana Bhagats at that place it is difficult to say what will happen. However, Tana Bhagats, who have respect for being a real follower of Gandhi Ji, will always be taken into confidence before any decision involving the land they are using,” the RMC official said.
