Ranchi, July 30: A popular saying in Hindi goes like “Jako Rakhe Saiyan Maar Sake Na Koi” (the one saved by God cannot be killed by anyone). This became true for two persons who survived even as their speeding car fell on the railway track from a height of at least 30 feet near Birsa Chowk in the heart of the Jharkhand capital.

The incident took place around 2.20 am on Saturday when the car somehow became imbalanced and fell through the gaps between two parallel road over-bridges across a railway track near the said roundabout under the jurisdiction of Hatia station post of Railway Protection Force (RPF).

Divisional security commissioner of RPF, Prashant Yadav, confirmed the incident saying “give thanks to Tata Altroz that both the passengers are safe.” “One of the passengers was a Khunti resident while another was a Gumla resident. They were returning from somewhere after completing their work,” he further said. Prodded further he asked to contact the local officials.

Deepak Kumar, Sub-inspector of RPF who had reached the spot after the accident, confirmed the fact saying “dual front airbags of the vehicle” got opened and the passengers sustained minor injuries. “We first took them to the railway hospital, from where they were referred to RIMS,” SI Kumar said.

SI Kumar said that passengers were lucky that their car did not fall on another track as a few minutes after the incident, a goods train ran on the track. He said that the senior officials of South Eastern Railway reached the spot as soon as they got the information about the incident.

Asked about the details of the injured, the SI said, “The two injured included Gajesh Kumar (27), a resident of Shiv Nagar near Soso More in Gumla district and Raju Swansi (30), a resident of Filter Colony under Dhurwa police station in Ranchi.”

Asked about the legal action, SI Kumar said: “The accidental vehicle was removed from the railway track for the smooth running of trains in time. Further, the said accidental vehicle was seized by RPF and after all legal formalities, a case vide No- 1345/2022 dtd. 30.07.2022 U/S 154 Railway Act was registered at RPF Post Hatia against the driver of the said vehicle Gajesh Kumar.”
