Ranchi University to organise staging of ‘Nag Mandal’ on April 18

Ranchi, April 12: The Fine Arts Department of Ranchi University (RU), under the joint aegis of Bhojpuri Yuva Vikas Manch and Natyalay is set to organise a staging of the play ‘Nag Mandal’ by Girish Karnad at 6:00 pm on April 18 at Aryabhatta auditorium, RU.

Director, Fine Arts Department, RU Dr Neelima Pathak, while addressing media at a press meet in this regard on Tuesday said, “The show on April 18 will be directed by Ayushi Bhadra and Raushan Saurabh Sharma. Ayushi is a runner up of the famous show ‘India’s Best Dramebaaz’, while Raushan is a pass out of National School of Drama (NSD).”

She further continued, “This is the first time that such a staging is being organized in the state. With this play, students of the 2022 batch of the organisation will have given their first exam.”

Shiv Mohan, Secretary of the organisation said, “Natyalay was set up in 2021, in the month of March. The main aim to set up this organisation is to teach students the minute details of acting that are a must for any actor.”

Ashutosh Dwivedi and Mukesh Nayak of Bhojpuri Yuva Vikas Manch, Vipul Nayak of Fine Arts Department, directors of the play Ayushi Bhadra and Raushan Saurabh and Satunkth Thakur of Natyalay were present on the occasion along with their respective teams.
