Ranchi University’s Psychology department holds parents meet

Ranchi, March 26: The Psychology department of Ranchi University on Saturday organized a parents-teachers’ meet (PTM) at the department in RU premises. HOD Dr Zeba and students of semester 1 and 3 were present on the occasion along with their parents.

Dr Parwez Hassan welcomed the parents and talked to them about the goals of the PTM. Parents present on the occasion also put forth their suggestions for the department to think over.

“We organised a parents teachers meet at the PG department of Psychology today. We discussed several issues related to the education of the students. Several parents shared their suggestions with us as well, that in the future will be very helpful,” said assistant professor Dr Abha Ekka.

The parents suggested that PTMs be organized every six months so that parents may be able to keep an eye on what their children are doing in college. Former director of RINPAS Dr Amool Ranjan was also present on the occasion. He stressed on preparations for M Phil in RINPAS and CIP and gave advice to both students and their parents.

Dr P K Banerjee, father of semester 1 student Arunima Banerjee suggested that work be done to improve and enhance their skills and further suggested conduction of workshops in the department. Parents further commended the department on their work so far.

Former HOD Dr Indira Pathak, Dr Anita Arora, Dr Reeta Kumari, Dr Smriti along with research scholars were present on the occasion.
