Ranchi, Jan 1: A huge number of people turned up at Ranchi’s Pahari Mandir to celebrate their first day of the year 2022. The district administration failed to control the huge upsurge of the public in the temple.
Keeping the guidelines of the district administration at stake, people reached the temple with no masks and social distancing norms were a total failure as well.
Talking to a person who had reached the temple to offer prayers said that there is no danger of corona in the temple as the virus gets killed by the sound of the bell ringing in the premises.
“The government has not put any restriction regarding Covid. That means we all are free to roam around, if there would have been a serious rise in cases then the government would have surely taken some steps,” another person said.
The district administration had ordered that no more than 50% of the total capacity be permitted but as there are no norms for the temples, people in huge numbers came to worship Lord Shiva.
At the same time, several parks across the district were filled with people celebrating New Year. Sidhu Kanhu Park located near Morabadi had a huge surge of people.
A special craze was seen among the people who came for boating in the Kanke Dam. The charge for boating has also been increased and doubled. Earlier for two persons, the charge of boating was Rs. 100. But, now it has been increased to Rs 200.
On the other hand, the vaccination team remained absent from the various picnic spots across the district. The district administration had earlier decided to vaccinate people reaching the picnic spots.
With no new prohibitory orders for New Year celebrations despite observing a surge in the cases of corona in Jharkhand, the people have also ignored the potent danger of Omicron strain which can prove dangerous.
