Ranchi, Dec 15: Jharkhand’s batting spearhead Ishan Kishan took bowlers to the cleaners on Day 3 as he scored 132 off 195 deliveries which included nine fours and eight sixes during the third day of the Elite Group C match of Ranji Trophy 2022-23, held at JSCA international stadium. His batting partner Saurabh Tiwary too played a crucial inning of 97, missing his century by three runs.
However, despite their batting heroics, Jharkhand was bundled out for 340 which gave Kerala a lead of 135. Jalaj Saxena was the leading wicket-taker for Kerala as he ended up with figures of 37.3-9-75-5.
By the end of Day 3, Kerala had scored 60 for the loss of one wicket and is currently ahead with a lead of 195.
In Kerala’s first Inning, Jharkhand’s ace spinner Shahbaz Nadeem took a fifer (5-167) as Kerala was bowled out for 475 during the second day.
Kerala’s Akshay Chandran was the star performer for the visitors in the first inning as the southpaw top scored with 150 off 268 deliveries. Kerala’s skipper and star Indian batter Sanju Samson also chipped in with a crucial 72 as his inning included seven sixes. The opening duo of R Prem and Kunnummal also scored 79 and 50 respectively.
